Ahoy dear dreamers,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bringing festivals and sustainability<\/strong> together is a real challenge \u2013 one that we take on with passion every single year. Art needs infrastructure, more than ten thousand celebrating people need to be taken care of, and spectacular music and light experiences are only half as magical without a lot of power behind them. In this newsletter, we would like to show you how we approach this challenge at Bucht der Tr\u00e4umer*.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the single biggest lever for making the festival more climate-friendly is in your own hands: your journey to and from the festival<\/strong>. Travel accounts for around 60% of all CO\u2082 emissions related to the festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To help you make a good travel decision, we have put together some important information for you below \u2013 including new Bassliner routes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sustainability \u2013 Where We Stand<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As festival organizers, we take responsibility and continuously work on better solutions for a more sustainable Bucht der Tr\u00e4umer*. For 2025, we created a visual climate balance sheet<\/u><\/strong><\/a> to transparently show where we currently stand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together with our sustainability officer<\/strong>, we are constantly developing the festival further and sharing on our website<\/strong><\/u><\/a> what we are currently working on, where there are still gaps, and which topics we want to tackle in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eco Team \u2013 Waste as a Resource<\/strong><\/strong>
Our Eco Team is on site from start to finish, making sure waste never becomes a problem in the first place. Instead of simply disposing of everything, all waste is collected, brought together centrally and sorted by hand into individual materials 

This keeps recyclable materials in circulation and significantly reduces the amount of residual waste. The extra effort is worth it: we deliberately invest in this system because celebrating sustainably means taking responsibility \u2013 even when it costs more time and money<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finizio \u2013 Eco toilets instead of chemicals<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finizio's dry toilets save water, are extremely efficient to transport, and work entirely without harmful additives. The waste is processed in a recycling facility into high-quality humus fertiliser that is safe, tested and free from pollutants. This creates a closed nutrient cycle from the festival back to the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travel to the festival is by far the biggest CO\u2082 factor of our event. Every person who leaves their car behind is doing something good for the environment. The most sustainable \u2013 and honestly also the most beautiful \u2013 way to arrive is by bicycle. This year, R\u00fcckenwind e.V<\/strong>. is once again organizing a group bike tour from Berlin to Helenesee.\n\nYour luggage will be transported, so all you need is a bicycle and motivation for around 100 km of cycling. Joining along the route is also possible in Erkner or F\u00fcrstenwalde. You can find all information at https:\/\/www.rueckenwind-berlin.de\/<\/a> and, closer to the festival, on our website as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Bassliner routes unlocked<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


The next most sustainable option this year is once again the Bassliner<\/u><\/strong><\/a>. You can already book buses from Berlin<\/strong> and Hamburg<\/strong>, and this year there will also be trips from Dresden<\/strong>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Camping \u2013 sustainable overnight stays<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

No tent? No problem. For 20 years \u2013 and for the first time this year at the Bucht \u2013 Mein-Zelt-steht-schon<\/u><\/strong><\/a> makes it possible: you simply book your tent and equipment in advance \u2013 and find it already set up when you arrive. There are different tent sizes available, from a one-person tent to a \u201cpalace\u201d for up to six people. You can flexibly add equipment \u2013 air mattress, sleeping bag, table, and sun sail.\n\nClick here<\/u><\/strong><\/a> for stress-free camping.\n\nLast year\u2019s big hit is naturally returning this year: our Kuschelmuschel<\/u><\/strong><\/a> offer. If you would like to stay in a cozy bell tent for two, have a look at our website. Please note: the 4-person tent is no longer available this year. Highlights in the cultural program<\/strong>

<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are also looking forward to several highlights on the topic of sustainability in the cultural program, such as the playful workshop Living Well Within Planetary Boundaries<\/em> and Reinhild Benning<\/strong> with Climate- and Human-Friendly Shopping<\/em>. The Sonnenallee collective<\/strong> will also be back on board with their solar-powered Transmission out of Space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
