We hope you’ve had a wonderful start to the new year! The turn of the year always carries that special energy – filled with resolutions, wishes, and reflections on how we want to live, work, and most importantly, be with one another. 2025 is here, and we’re asking big questions: What do we need to feel connected in an increasingly complex world? How can we foster a culture of togetherness?
Our motto for 2025: Community & Belonging
Our society and its traditions have been in a constant state of change for years. We’ve gained independence but also grown more isolated. Big cities are losing their communal spaces due to gentrification – spacious shared apartments are shrinking into small studios, and clubs – once hubs of (sub)culture and togetherness – are closing one after another. Along with the music and dancing, networks and friendships disappear, and established communities lose their anchor points.
Strategies Against Isolation
We all feel the impact of the digital age on our social lives: social media amplifies exclusion and “othering” as central mechanisms – those left out often feel it acutely. At the same time, we barely notice how much time slips through our fingers during daily scrolling – time that could be spent visiting friends, calling family members, getting involved in community projects, or simply causing a bit of mischief in the neighborhood.
But have we truly done everything we can to reclaim genuine connection? How can we create spaces that foster solidarity instead of eroding it? These are the questions guiding us as we shape the Bucht der Träumer* 2025. We don’t just want to celebrate with you – we want to take action, discuss, and explore how to keep the spirit of real community alive.
